Job Description
Description
- Planning of secure fibre optic cable networks, FttB/H networks as well as in-house systems and transmission technology for the construction of network extensions and customer connections in the relevant systems
- Collaboration in the development of architecture for a secure fibre optic infrastructure and transmission technology (infrastructure, technology and material standards, design specifications, architectural principles, standardised modular solutions) incl. operating concepts in coordination with the departments involved
- Evaluation and introduction of new transmission technology and infrastructure components
- Creation of business cases for expansion projects with regard to network infrastructure and transmission technology
- Requesting requirements, managing and coordinating service providers as well as defining requirements, carrying out quality monitoring and acceptance of planning services for network infrastructure and transmission technology.
- Processing of internal processes in the workflow tools used (e.g. Jira)
- Technical sales support with regard to network infrastructure and transmission technology
- Interface to all internal and interdisciplinary departments, as well as externally to cities and municipalities, municipal utilities, carriers, authorities and engineering/planning offices
- Creating and updating technical documents relating to network infrastructure and transmission technology
- Collaboration in process modelling for team-relevant processes
Requirements
- Degree in computer science or electrical engineering (specialising in telecommunications/communications engineering), technician or comparable qualification with professional experience
- Very good expertise in at least one of the following areas
- Fibre optic infrastructure and line construction
- WDM transmission links
- Access connections (e.g. xPON, FttB/H, xDSL, …)
