We are supporting a market leading company in infrastructure construction finding an experienced Security Operations Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen the operational defense of a modern hybrid IT landscape.
Our client operates complex on-prem, cloud, and collaboration platforms and is looking for a hands-on security professional who wants to set standards, influence architecture, and actively protect real-world systems.
Your Role
You will work at the core of operational cybersecurity, where technical expertise and clear thinking matter. This is not a checkbox role — you will shape how security is detected, handled, and improved.
Your Responsibilities

Operate and continuously improve security controls and detection platforms with a strong focus on accuracy and low false-positive rates

Analyze, triage, and prioritize security events and incidents based on risk and business impact

Actively contribute to incident response: investigation, containment, remediation, and coordination with 24/7 SOC and internal IT teams

Strengthen the organization’s security posture through rule tuning, system hardening, and secure configuration across cloud and on-prem environments

Support the secure operation of identity, email, and collaboration platforms

Document incidents clearly and contribute to concise, risk-oriented security reporting

Work closely with infrastructure, cloud, digital, and support teams as well as external security partners

Contribute to runbooks, procedures, awareness initiatives, and incident simulation exercises
Your Profile

Around 5 years of experience in Security Operations, SOC, SecOps, or a comparable cybersecurity role

Strong understanding of hybrid IT environments and related security risks

Hands-on experience with incident detection, analysis, and response

Pragmatic, structured working style with the ability to prioritize under pressure

Team-oriented mindset with clear and professional communication skills

Very good command of both English and German
